John Gamble is a licensed professional engineer with expertise in public policy. As president and CEO of the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies (ACEC), he is widely regarded as a leading expert and spokesperson on industry issues across Canada and internationally.
His success is built on his combined experience in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. He has run for political office and served as a senior advisor to two successive cabinet ministers in the Ontario provincial government. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Queen's University and spent the first 10 years of his career practicing environmental engineering in the private sector.
Throughout his career, John Gamble has actively promoted the importance of engineering to our social, economic and environmental quality of life to a wide range of industry, government, academic and public organizations. In 2006, he received an award from ACEC for his “exceptional contribution to the consulting engineering industry.” He is also a recipient of the Honorary Membership Award from the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists.

Mr. Carrière received his designation as a Certified General Accountant (CGA) in 1992. He joined ACEC in 1998, following 10 years in the retail food industry. Mr. Carrière is a member of the Canadian Society of Association Executives (CSAE), the Canadian Club of Ottawa, and is a Director of the Allen D. Williams Foundation.
Mr. Carrière is responsible for safeguarding the assets of the Association and providing timely financial reporting to the organizations' Board of Directors. Mr. Carrière participates in the organization's Strategic Planning process, and consequently has adapted the Annual Budget to reflect the organization's Strategic Priorities. Mr. Carrière is a key player in the Association's Management team providing ongoing advice in the continuity of personnel required to achieve the organization's mission and vision.
Mr. Carrière supports key association committees, including the Executive Committee, the Audit Committee, the General Reserve Investment Committee, the Budget Committee, the Human Resources Committee (Chair), the By-Laws Review task force, and the Dues Review task force.
Mr. Carrière's wealth of experience provides a solid background for reporting on the industry's key statistics and trends. Under his umbrella, the Association conducts regular Benchmark and Business surveys for members to compare financial results and key indicators, annual industry Compensation and Benefits surveys to assist members in assessing proper retention and remuneration levels, and regular Client surveys to provide insight on service satisfaction levels and suggested areas for improvement. The Association also offers regular training seminars to members requiring contract and participation review, and results reporting.
Mr. Carrière is involved in the development, delivery and reconciliation of the association's key events, the Annual Summit and Convention and the Canadian Consulting Engineering Awards, in liaison with staff members and external consultants.

Martine Proulx is ACEC’s Director Association Programs and Member Services and is responsible for the development and analysis of policies, programs, products and services necessary to enhance member engagement. In this role, Martine works with ACEC’s Member Organizations and provides staff support to volunteer activities, including various committees and task forces.
Martine joined ACEC in March 2014 having worked with the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI) since 2005. As Membership Manager at CADSI, Martine was instrumental in the growth of the association’s membership from just under 400 members to over 800 members in less than 3 years. In 2008, she took on the role of Director of Events which required her to lead a cross-functional team in the conceptualization, implementation, and delivery of event programs with a budget of over $2M annually. Martine oversaw the successful delivery of CANSEC, Canada’s largest defence tradeshow as well as SecureTech, a public safety, emergency management and security showcase.
Prior to her tenure at CADSI, Martine was responsible for membership and conference programs at the Canadian Dental Hygiene Association (CDHA). Her career started in the hospitality sector through various positions at the Fairmont Château Laurier hotel in Ottawa.
Martine is a graduate of the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of Social Sciences with Honours in Political Science and a concentration in History. She is currently completing the Management Development Program for Women at the Centre for Research and Education on Women and Work at Carleton University’s Sprott School of Business.
Mark Buzan, APR, CAE

Mark Buzan is the Director of Business Development and Corporate Partnerships. Mr. Buzan is an association management executive accredited in Public Relations from the CPRS and Certified as an Association Executive (CAE) from CSAE. Having occupied roles both within associations and as a consultant, Mark has more than 18 years of experience working effectively with a variety of national non-profit boards. To meet organizational goals and optimize organizational effectiveness, Mark has written governance policies, managed annual budgets and directed planning initiatives as well as strategy and business operation plans.
He also has a solid reputation for building, managing and promoting member programs to increase bottom-line with improved member services and benefits. He is a relationship builder in public relations, government relations, social media, and stakeholder relations. Having experience both within associations and from the perspective of businesses serving associations, Mark also has experience in developing strategies for raising non-dues revenue and building strategic partnerships that make sense for all involved.

Julie Jacquard is the Lead Organizer, Programs and Meetings for the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies (ACEC). Julie has over 15 years experience working in a client driven environment. She has received various "Service Excellence Awards" for her exceptional service to clients.
Julie facilitates the implementation and execution surrounding the PSMJ business management training offered by ACEC. She also supports ACEC on a number of initiatives including both of ACEC's major corporate events.
Communications and Marketing Specialist

Christina Locmelis is joining the team as ACEC's Communications and Marketing Specialist. Christina supports the Director of Association Programs and Member Services and the Management team in executing ACEC’s strategic objectives. Working with the communications team, she is responsible for the implementation of the association’s communications plan and the development and implementation of social media strategies. Christina assists with writing, editing and coordinating ACEC’s communications. She is also involved in planning, promoting and executing ACEC’s events. Lastly, Christina acts as liaison for ACEC’s Young Professional Network and supports ACEC’s Student Outreach Program.
Christina comes to us with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a Master of Arts with a specialization in Organizational Communication from the University of Ottawa. Prior to joining ACEC, Christina worked within the communications sector of the federal government and within the academic sector.
IM/IT Systems Specialist

Martin Savard is the IM/IT Systems Specialistat ACEC. He maintains the database, keeps the website up-to-date, and also designs most of ACEC's publications and newsletters. He holds a Bachelor degree in electrical engineering from Carleton University and spent the first part of his career with Environment Canada doing simulation modeling and with Dell doing I.T.

Amélie is responsible for the coordination of all administrative work from the President’s office and other senior management as well as day-to-day operations within the national office. As the first point of contact for visitors to the ACEC office her responsibilities also include assisting, preparing and sending association correspondence, coordinating meetings and travel, and reception duties. Amélie also works with the Director of Business Development and Corporate Partnerships, supporting his effort in the development of new and existing partnerships. Lastly, Amélie assists the Communications team in the delivery of communications materials.
Amélie comes to us with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Political Science and a Master of Arts specializing in Media Communications. Prior to joining ACEC, Amélie worked within various communications arenas, including public affairs, marketing and event coordinating, in both the public and private sector.
