The consulting engineering sector in Quebec makes a significant contribution to the Quebec economy according to a new study. L’Association des firmes de génie-conseil – Québec (AFG) released the study during the Relance du genie-conseil : le temps de rebatir event organized by the Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec (FCCQ). Conducted by E&B DATA, it provides a statistical picture of the industry in that province.
"Consulting engineering is a strategic sector for Quebec’s socio-economic development" André Rainville, AFG’s President and Executive Director stated. "These statistics confirm the sector’s important contribution in terms of jobs, GDP and the participation of our industry in different economic spheres."
According to the report, AFG members:
- Directly employ 22,000 people
- Contribute $3B to Quebec’s GDP
- Drive $595M in revenue for the Quebec government
- Drive $250M in revenue for the Federal government
ACEC congratulates AFG’s leadership on the release of the study, which highlights our sector’s important contributions to society and its economy. It is just one of AFG’s ongoing advocacy efforts to showcase the importance and value of consulting engineers both in Quebec and nationally.
