Dear ACEC Members,

The following letter was sent by ACEC on April 25, 2012 in response to the recent Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) for the Business Case for a New Bridge for the St. Lawrence Project in Montréal (Solicitation No. T8010-110163/A).

This letter was sent as follow-up to the recent ACEC Source Express regarding this project. ACEC received comments from a number of members expressing concern with certain aspects of the RFP. Based on the comments received, it appears many firms are concerned that this project is not commercially attractive and will not allow them to provide a high level of service or value to taxpayers.

The concerns of ACEC members were individually expressed to ACEC, and we wish to emphasize that any decisions regarding whether to submit a proposal and/or decisions regarding any term(s) of this or any proposal, as always, must be made by each individual firm.

ACEC thanks all of the firms that brought their concerns forward to ACEC.

Sincerely,

John Gamble, CET, P.Eng.
