The CFES CELC will be held virtually over multiple weekends in January, it brings student leaders together to collaborate, develop their skills, and gain a better understanding of engineering as a profession. CFES CELC has two primary functions. First, it is a bilingual annual general meeting for The Canadian Federation of Engineering Students. Delegates discuss student council best practices and bring home actionable ideas to improve the students’ experience in engineering. The second function is to further develop our student leaders; the delegates attend workshops hosted by both experienced students and event sponsors. They also have the opportunity to network with potential employers. From civil and petroleum to mechatronic systems and aerospace, nearly every discipline is represented. This conference will be held on a virtual platform this year.

What is the Canadian Engineering Competition (CEC)?

The Canadian Engineering Competition (CEC) is an annual bilingual competition that brings together 150 of the nation’s brightest and most creative undergraduate engineering students. There are eight categories within the competition that range from design and consulting to debate. The competitors must first win an intra-university competition and then achieve top placement in the ensuing regional competitions (Western, Ontario, Atlantic, and Quebec Regions). CEC enables top engineering students to participate in challenging case studies that pertain to real-world issues. From significant support and contributions made from industry, the competitors receive an invaluable opportunity to both apply their highly sought-after engineering skills and network with sponsors. This conference will be held on a virtual platform this year.
