On October 26th, ACEC’s membership came together virtually to take part in the 2021 Annual General Meeting on October 26th, 2021.
Chief Sharleen Gayle of the Fort Nelson First Nation in Treaty 8 provided an opening address in her capacity as Chair of the Board of Directors of the First Nations Major Projects Coalition (FNMPC), an important partner and stakeholder. Chief Gayle spoke to the ties of Indigenous economic development and the innovative work conducted by our industry on major projects and how Indigenous projects can contribute to a net-zero future. We thank the Chief for joining us and sharing her vision and that of the FNMPC with regards to a more sustainable future.
The recipient of the Chair’s Award, presented by outgoing Chair Anthony Karakatsanis, was announced during the meeting. The award is presented to an individual, individuals, or organizations who have made an important difference to the consulting engineering sector.
