Kick off your ACEC national leadership conference experience by attending the Welcome Reception. Connect with fellow conference delegates and their spouses, the ACEC Board of Directors, conference speakers, and special guests. This is a great event to mingle and get to meet peers for your first night in the Nation’s capital. Business Program
Monday October 22nd and Tuesday October 23rd

The conference business program, developed on the theme "driving business, shaping policy", will feature experts and important stakeholders from the private and public sectors. The presentations and panel discussions will focus on top policy priorities and key business issues for the consulting engineering sector. (Attendance open to delegates and YPs)


Networking Reception

Monday October 22nd, 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm

Sir John A. Macdonald building

Join us across the street from our seat of government at the Sir John A. Macdonald building for the Networking Reception. Designed by Montreal architect Ernest Barott and built in 1932 for the Bank of Montreal, the Sir John A. Macdonald Building, renamed in honour of Canada's first prime minister, is a harmonious blend of Beaux-Arts and Art Deco architecture and design. It will provide the backdrop for delegates and companions to mingle with Ministers, Members of Parliament, and Senior Bureaucrats from the federal government. (Attendance open to delegates, YPs and companions)


MP Meetings - Parliament Hill Day

Parliament Hill 


A cornerstone government relations activity for ACEC, Parliament Hill Day is a yearly event that raises awareness of the issues affecting the consulting engineering industry through meetings with Members of Parliament and Senior Bureaucrats from the federal government. Become a citizen advocate and help shape policy affecting our sector by meeting with your local MP in their Parliament Hill office. (Participation open to employees of member firms)


Parliamentary Tour of the West Block Rehabilitation Program

Tuesday October 23rd, 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm

Parliament Hill 

Take part in a private Parliamentary Tour that will start in the new Parliament Hill Visitor Welcome Centre, a complex multi-level underground facility built as part of the West Block Rehabilitation Program and Parliament Hill’s new front door. Delegates will enter the vaulted hall and make their way through the principal gathering space located on the lower level where they will connect via link to the North Court Hall, a grand space created as a transitional zone to help orient new visitors to the West Block. Guests will enter the glazed heritage courtyard of the newly designed Interim Chamber where the House of Commons Chief Architect will present the building’s history, heritage and architectural design features.


Canadian Consulting Engineering Awards Gala

Celebrate excellence in consulting engineering! The Canadian Consulting Engineering Awards Gala will be the culminating event of the conference and industry's night to award the highest honours for achievements in consulting engineering in Canada. Co-sponsored by ACEC and Canadian Consulting Engineer magazine, this marks the awards 50th year.  Join us for this very special evening and close your conference experience off at our industry's night of excellence and premier networking event.
