ACEC's 2017 Engineering Student Photo Contest






The winner of the 2017 ACEC Engineering Student Photo Contest is Mahmood Reza Karimi Estahbanati from l'Université Laval!

Thank you to everyone who participated. The entries we received were all truly inspiring and reflected the contributions that consulting engineers have towards our quality of life, here at home and around the world! 

Win a VIP seat at the Canadian Consulting Engineering Awards Gala held on October 24, 2017 in Ottawa and a chance to meet Canada’s top consulting engineers, see award-winning projects revealed, meet the project teams, and consulting engineering firms’ CEOs.

The purpose of the contest is to get Canadian engineering students excited about a career in consulting engineering and to submit a photo about how they wish to have a positive impact on society with their engineering degree.



  • Post a photo on Instagram or Twitter that shows us how you'll change the world or what kind of impact you'd like to have on society with your engineering degree. The post must include: #ConsultingEng2Be and @aceccanada, and a short explanation or description of no more than 140 characters on Twitter, or 100 words on Instagram. The post must be made visible to ACEC.*

  • Contest begins: Friday September 8, 2017 at 12:01am EDT
  • Deadline to enter: Thursday September 28, 2017 at 11:59 PM EDT
  • Winner will be announced: Wednesday October 11, 2017 at 5:00 PM EDT



  • The winner attends the Canadian Consulting Engineering Awards Gala, held in Ottawa on October 24, 2017 and gets the chance to meet Canada’s top consulting engineers who have worked on award-winning projects! If the winner can’t attend the national gala, he or she may attend the closest provincial/territorial awards held between January and May 2018. See the contest rules for greater detail.



  • Students currently enrolled in an engineering program at an accredited Canadian university 
  • Undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to enter
  • Students must enter individually 



*By submitting a photo to the ACEC Engineering Student Contest, you are agreeing to place the photo you submit online for public viewing. By entering this Contest, you consent to ACEC-Canada’s use of the photo, your name, University where you are an active student and engineering specialty, for any publicity purposes, without compensation.

*All entries must be a photo that was taken by the participant, or must be a photo /image that the participant has the legal rights to. The photo does not have to be a photo of their own engineering project.
