Mark your calendar for the ACEC national leadership conference 2019, taking place October 27-29 in Ottawa.

Building on the success of last year’s event, the conference – tailored for business leaders and decision makers in the consulting engineering sector - is gearing up to be bigger and better in 2019.

In Discussion with ACEC is a series of informal conversations with federal government decision makers who have an impact on the consulting engineering sector. During these interviews, ACEC President & CEO John Gamble delves into the government’s policies and programs to gain a first-hand understanding of its long-term vision on the issues/challenges facing the sector.

 


ACEC a proud participant in a major gathering of First Nations and Industry

 

ACEC representatives recently took part in a two-day event focused on discussing the challenges and opportunities of working together to advance major projects.

On March 4 & 5, ACEC Chair Michael Snow and President & CEO John Gamble were amongst the 120 participants from industry and First Nations gathered for two days of meetings focused on discussing matters of common interest in advancing major project development. 

 


Art Washuta recognized for his contribution to our industry

 

Recipient of the Lieutenant Governor's Award for Distinguished Achievement 2019.

Past ACEC Board Director Art Washuta was recognized for his contribution to the consulting engineering industry with the Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Distinguished Achievement at the CEA Showcase Awards this past February. Congratulations Art!

World Bank signs five-year agreement to use FIDIC standard contracts

 

FIDIC also expects to announce a similar agreement with the other multilateral development banks.

International engineering federation FIDIC (the International Federation of Consulting Engineers) has secured a major agreement with the World Bank that will see the international funding organisation adopt the use of six FIDIC standard contracts for the next five years.

National Engineering Month is presented by Engineers Canada—the national association of the 12 provincial and territorial engineering regulators—and has been celebrated each year since 1991.
