ACEC Launches National Ad Campaign
The Association of Consulting Engineers of Canada has launched a national magazine advertising campaign designed to demonstrate the vital role that engineers play in infrastructure development as well as to promote the InfraGuide "Best Practice" for Selecting a Professional Consultant.
The InfraGuide "Best Practice" for Selecting a Professional Consultant is one of 52 InfraGuide Best Practices available to those involved in infrastructure projects. InfraGuide is a collaboration of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, Infrastructure Canada the National Research Council and the Canadian Public Works Association. The “Best Practice” for Selecting a Professional Consultant document promotes the principles of Qualifications-Based Selection (QBS) rather than price-based selection as the best method for selecting professional engineers and other consultants.
The ad campaign will target key decision-makers and opinion-leaders, primarily in the public sector. The ads, titled “Engineers’ Hands Shape our World,” are slated to run in select publications including the Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ Forum magazine; Summit magazine, aimed at public sector procurement specialists; and The Hill Times newsweekly, which is read by politicians and senior civil servants.
