2014 Canadian Consulting Engineering Awards
Recognizing outstanding achievements in consulting engineering
Entries are now invited!
The Canadian Consulting Engineering Awards represent the highest honours for excellence in consulting engineering in Canada. Now in their 46th year, the awards are a joint program of the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies (ACEC) and Canadian Consulting Engineer magazine. Winning projects are selected based on high quality engineering, imagination and innovation.
The Stage I deadline (Notice of Intention to Enter) is Tuesday, March 25.
Why You Should Enter
National Recognition for Your Firm
The Canadian Consulting Engineering Awards provide a platform for ACEC member firms to showcase their talent and expertise. The list of winners is publicized nationwide and project details are published in a special issue of Canadian Consulting Engineer magazine. In addition, ACEC and CCE will jointly issue a press release to media in your local area.
Canadian Consulting Engineering Awards Gala - Industry’s Premier Networking Event
Presentation of the awards will take place at the Canadian Consulting Engineering Awards Gala dinner in Ottawa on October 23, 2014. The Awards Gala is a premier networking opportunity for ACEC members and a showcase for the accomplishments of the industry.
Raise the Industry’s Profile and Participate in ACEC’s Parliament Hill Day
Representatives of the winning firms are invited to participate in ACEC’s Parliament Hill Day, where they will join an exclusive group of ACEC representatives for face-to-face meetings with high-ranking Parliamentarians on key issues facing the industry.
Awards of Excellence and Special Achievement Awards
Up to 20 Awards of Excellence will be given at the judges’ discretion. These are selected from all categories.
In addition, a number of Special Achievement Awards will be designated by the jury from among projects entered in all categories. These Special Achievement Awards include:
The highest honour is the Schreyer Award which is bestowed annually. It is presented to the project that best demonstrates technical excellence and innovation by a consulting engineering firm.
Tree for Life Award
This award is given annually to a project that demonstrates outstanding environmental stewardship.
The Ambassador Award is presented to a project executed outside Canada that best showcases Canadian engineering expertise.
Engineering a Better Canada Award
The Engineering a Better Canada Award is presented to the project that best showcases how engineering enhances the social, economic or cultural quality of life of Canadians.
This award is given in recognition of a company's contributions and services for a community, either in Canada or elsewhere.
Judging of the submissions will take place in mid-June and you will be notified soon afterwards whether or not your firm has won an award. The judging panel consists of eminent Canadian engineers and other knowledgeable experts who are not directly employed in the consulting engineering business sector.
NOTE: These national awards are held independently of the provincial awards programs for consulting engineers and have different judging criteria. Eligible projects must have been completed in the period from January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2013. Firms must be a member of ACEC to be eligible.
