ACEC is a member of the Fédération Internationale d’Ingénieurs Conseils (FIDIC). This global umbrella organization was founded in France in 1913 and represents the business and commercial interests of consulting engineering companies around the world.

FIDIC has over 80 national member associations and associate members, and its mandate is to implement the industry’s strategic goals on their behalf. Its member firms endorse the federation’s statutes, comply with its Code of Ethics, and advocate the selection of engineering firms on the basis of quality, not the lowest price.

FIDIC organizes international and regional conferences and training programs, and its publications are widely used in the engineering industry. These include project contract forms, professional services agreements, and international best-practice guides. For more information about FIDIC, visit the federation’s website at www.fidic.org.
