What is the Beaubien Award?

Since 1985, the Beaubien Award has been the hallmark of excellence in the consulting engineering industry. Named in honor of Dr. James de Gaspé Beaubien, the founder of ACEC in 1925, this award recognizes individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to the profession.

Who Qualifies?

Individuals from existing or past member firms who have distinguished themselves as outstanding contributors to ACEC-Canada, either through their dedicated work within the association or by elevating the stature of consulting engineering through their remarkable accomplishments. Former Presidents or Chairs of the Association, who've been out of that role for at least five (5) years, and ex-members of the ACEC Board of Directors, retired from the Board for a minimum of three (3) years, can also be nominated.

How to Nominate

Submitting a nomination is simple! Anyone from a Member Firm can propose a candidate. No fancy forms—just a letter that shares the details of your nominee's career highlights and why they're a standout.

**Submission tips**
Keep it short and sweet—no more than 7 pages! Break it down into:

• Standout achievements (1 page max.)
• Examples of leadership, public profile, achievements, and volunteer work (1.5 pages each)
• Your relationship with the nominee and how long you've known them

 **Supporting docs**
Feel free to attach up to 10 pages of additional content like a CV and endorsements (media reports, awards, etc.). Let's paint a vivid picture of why your nominee is a Beaubien Award-worthy winner!

What Happens Next?

Submissions will be reviewed by our Past Chair’s Council, who will make a recommendation to the Board of Directors for endorsement at their June 26, 2024 meeting. All nominators will be advised of the Board’s decision by June 28, 2024.
