The past year’s crisis has changed how we look at our environment, our society and our industry. We are revisiting long-standing assumptions and viewing the future through a new lens. It is an opportunity to renew our approach to challenges such as diversity and inclusion, the state of our environment, the impact of evolving business models.
The 2021 national leadership conference business program will explore the larger themes with which Canada and the world have been trying to come to terms with. Where are we as an industry? Where should we go and how do we get there? Through meaningful dialogue, panelists will tackle the questions of how our industry should recalibrate and what consulting engineering firms need to do to position themselves for the future. These prestigious awards are presented in a variety of categories, ranging from buildings and transportation to the environment and wastewater treatment. They include the Beaubien Award for lifetime achievement, presented to an individual who has made significant contributions to the industry and the profession, the Schreyer Award, given to the most technically innovative project, and the Tree for Life Award, presented for outstanding environmental stewardship. According to ACEC President and CEO John Gamble, "The awards showcase the important role of Canadian consulting engineers in every aspect of our lives."
The purpose of the contest is to get Canadian engineering students excited about a career in consulting engineering and to submit a photo about how they wish to have a positive impact on society with their engineering degree.
