Reimagining our World will be an opportunity for the consulting engineering sector to come together and rethink the fundamentals of our industry and the role we should and can play in supporting society’s evolution toward a greener, more inclusive world.
Overview
The past year’s crisis has changed how we look at our environment, our society and our industry. We are revisiting long-standing assumptions and viewing the future through a new lens. It is an opportunity to renew our approach to challenges such as diversity and inclusion, the state of our environment, the impact of evolving business models.
The 2021 national leadership conference business program will explore the larger themes with which Canada and the world have been trying to come to terms with. Where are we as an industry? Where should we go and how do we get there? Through meaningful dialogue, panelists will tackle the questions of how our industry should recalibrate and what consulting engineering firms need to do to position themselves for the future. This is your chance to be part of that discussion!

What role does the natural resource sector play in the development of renewable energy and achieving a greener economy? During this discussion, panelists will address these challenging questions and share their perspective on how our industry is making a meaning contribution to this important change.

Industry in flux - reimagining business models for future success
3:00 pm to 4:00 pm Panelists:
Successive shutdowns and stay at home orders have created unprecedented challenges and uncertainty for businesses in all sectors of the economy. Traditional business models, organizational structures, and business processes had to be reimagined to survive. Is there an opportunity to adapt lessons learned and apply new perspectives to how we conduct business? Or do we need a more fundamental reimaging of our businesses? What do consulting engineering firms need to consider for future success? How will business models evolve? Do firms need to adapt their HR policies and operating structures to ensure they are attracting and retaining talent in the post-pandemic world? How can firms address and support employees’ mental health? Have client expectations shifted and/or will they remain what they were post-pandemic? Join industry leaders and clients as they look to the future and share their insights on how the sector will change in the coming months and years as we transition beyond the COVID pandemic.
